Using scraps to get the most out of your materials.
Lets face it. Scrapbooking and paper crafts can get really expensive. Even when you are purchasing your tools and materials on sale, it can still add up. This is why it is important that you use your materials the most you possibly can to save yourself some money. Even if it is a little bit of paper, save it and use it for something later. You will be impressed at how much money you save down the road.
For instance, I love to cut tons of dies on my Cricut machine. But, it always leaves little scraps of paper after it has cut the dies. I store the scrap paper in a folder, and when I am trying to add a little to my pages, I start digging through my scraps. I have found that the shadows of the cutouts I have made on my Cricut machine make good frames for photos! It is a great way to use my scraps.
If I purchase a package of buttons or embellishments and I only have one left, I will also keep that in my container to use at a later date. One here and there add up quite quickly, and then I will use them in a collage page in my book. You would be amazed at the creations that you can come up with using only scrap material.
Try keeping your scrap materials in a container with a lid. This way, they will be in easy access when you want to use them and look through them, and they will be nicely organized. You will save a lot of money if you use your creativity and reuse your scrap materials.
